Your eyebrows are one of the defining features on your face. They express emotion, show expression and frame your eyes. The placement of the eyebrows is determined by how tight the skin of the forehead is. Age and genetics can have the eyebrows sitting below the orbital bone causing an impact to vision, giving the facial expressions of being tired or angry. Brow lift, sometimes done in conjunction with Blepharoplasty, lifts a low or sagging brow. The results of lifting the brow will be to smooth furrows across the forehead and in between the brows, restoring a more youthful and relaxed appearance. We recommend this procedure for those who have:
- Low eyebrow position
- Deep creases across the forehead
- Frown lines or furrows across the top of the nose
- Excess skin hanging over the eyelash line

Brow Lift FAQs
In the past decade, science has developed a number of approaches that specifically address different brow problems.
The Temporal Browlift requires two small incisions in the scalp. This procedure lifts the eyebrows and is performed only with a concurrent eyelid lift. The between eyebrow muscles are reached through the eyelid incision; brow elevation is achieved through the scalp incisions.
The Endoscopic browlift uses 2-5 small incisions in the scalp, the muscles are shortened and the eyebrows elevated using an endoscope, a tool for visualizing the internal structures of the forehead skin on a monitor. No eyelid incisions are needed, vertical wrinkles are minimized, and the eyebrows can be elevated.
Nearly all patients are fully mobile the day after surgery, but most take a few days off work depending on individual healing rate. Full healing takes anywhere from 6 week to 6 months. Everyone’s healing rate is different and depends on what other procedures where done in conjunction with the browlift. Some patients may experience numbness at the incision sites for a few months after surgery.
“Age knows no number.” Some women may never need a browlift while others may benefit as early as their late twenties, early thirties. Men generally don’t benefit until their late forties at the earliest. No matter what age you are, if you are looking in the mirror and aren’t happy with the appearance of the person looking back at you Dr. Diane Bowen at Golden Isles Center for Plastic Surgery can help. If you have explored non-surgical options with little to no success than a consultation into a surgical procedure may be the solution you are looking for.
