NATURAL EXPRESSION
Sharol Henderson is a longtime resident of St. Simons Island. Sharol and her sister, Barb Witt, attended Dr. Diane Bowen’s open house at Golden Isles Center for Plastic Surgery to gather information on products and services. “Having no eyebrows, I wanted to find out about Microblading. I have a low thyroid, which has caused my brows to fall out, and they have not grown back,” Sharol said. She is delighted with her results.
Meghan Bacher, aesthetician and Microblading artist at Dr. Bowen’s office said, “Based on Sharol’s consultation, we determined she would be an excellent candidate for Microblading—a permanent cosmetic procedure, which creates a multitude of natural looking hair strokes by utilizing a hand tool. “Sharol wanted a natural brow shape with a soft curved arch and medium brown pigment to compliment her hair and skin tone. We completed Sharol’s initial treatment and four-week follow up, which resulted in beautiful, natural looking brows,” said Meghan. Meghan was able to create a beautiful, replenished, natural look back to Sharol’s eyebrows. Sharol loves how Meghan blended two tones into her brows to compliment her face. This relatively painless procedure, performed by an aesthetician under the supervision of a medical doctor, is an excellent way to regain confidence and feel great about yourself.
BEAUTIFUL DAY
Next, Sharol met Elizabeth Jordan, owner of Lady and Gentlemen Outfitters. Elizabeth recommended a Hatley springtime-fabulous ocean blue dress accessorized with popular prayer beads by GraceFull and an aluminum Haitian cuff and Spartina bracelet.
Sharol’s sister, Barb, who is master stylist with Denae Daniels Salon, warmed up Sharol’s hair color by applying light medium brown with auburn and a few subtle highlights on top. A soothing, conditioned shampoo was followed by a blowout to smooth her natural wavy hair. Barb used a round brush and steam flat iron for this effect. She also cut Sharol’s hair into a short bob with an added stack in the back.
Devyn Miller, hair and makeup artist and one of the Salon’s owners, began Sharol’s makeup session. (Check out Devyn’s Instagram tutorial blog; Devyn Denae Miller) She applied foundation to enhance Sharol’s olive complexion, then matte powder and some contouring. Once Devyn began blending nude eyeshadows and a little ocean blue color onto Sharol’s lash line for reflective effect, Sharol’s big brown eyes and new lovely eyebrows began to pop! A little pomegranate lip color sealed the deal.
ACCOLADES
After posing for final photos, Sharol said, “I am so excited to have eyebrows again! No more drawing them on; I always drew them too thin. Before, I felt I was not completing my facial expression when I spoke. People didn’t know if I was being sarcastic, funny or serious. I can do it now and people know exactly what I’m saying.
